Hi! I'm the Vans Old Skool Black sneaker, and I thought I'd tell you something about myself before you buy me. Why? I just want you to know what you're going to walk in - literally.
I was born in 1977. Wait a minute - before you leave me thinking I’m too old for you, let me try to change your mind. Over the years, I have matured like wine and new designs, improvements and modifications appear more often than wrinkles on my soles.
I was originally created as a shoe for skateboarding, but I've learned much more in my rich history. I won’t get offended if you take me out on a trip to the countryside or if we just walk around town together. Because I like to discover new things, I’ll be even happier if you find a totally new use for me.
Who wears me?
Everyone wears me. Hmm, actually everyone with good fashion sense! Aside from your friends, it’s stars such as A$AP Rocky, Kylie Jenner or Stella Maxwell who rock me on their feet. Server i-D even called me the most important sneaker in the world! When I found that out, I began to blush so much that a few of my red colourways were created.
What do I go great with?
Finally, I’ll recommend what to wear so we look good together. The answer is anything. Seriously, my colour and design are so versatile that whatever style you try with me, I will always suit it perfectly.
Well, now you know the most important information about me, I'll tell you the rest in private. I have introduced myself shortly and now it's your turn!
The classic "old skool" design, the upper of canvas or leather, Vans waffle sole and great quality - this exact combination makes the Vans Old Skool sneakers something unique. How else would they be able to survive for so many years at the peak of popularity?
Textile: The textile upper of the sneakers is lightweight, breathable and comfortable, ideal for everyday wear and sports. It ensures air circulation, keeps feet fresh and adapts to their shape. Often complemented with synthetic or rubber details for durability and support.
Wafer: The legendary sole that will never lose touch with the surface. It is especially typical for Vans sneakers.

Van Doren Rubber Co. was established in 1966 by Paul Van Doren in Anaheim, California when he tried to mold soles on a classic waffle maker. For many people, it might have been a bizarre idea at that time but from today's perspective, it has led to one of the greatest milestones in the production of modern footwear. We at Footshop offer Vans apparel, sneakers and accessories for men, women, and children in many styles and colours.
